Areas of Practice

Couples Therapy

Relationships are an essential part of our general health and well-being. In fact, the health of your relationship is one of the biggest factors in your overall health and longevity. When our relationships are no longer making us happy, it affects all aspects of our lives. Equally, if not more important, is preventing crisis in a relationship by tackling differences early on in relationships. Couples therapy can be a critical component in helping to prevent little problems into turning into big ones, fine tuning a struggling relationship, or repair a damaged one

Individuals in Relationships

Relationships can be challenging; finding the right one, maintaining a relationship, or getting out of one that is no longer working. Individual therapy can help you work through the issues that have made you feel stuck, or have been causing you distress, and help you move toward a positive and stable relationship.

Life Transition Therapy

We experience a significant amount of change throughout our life. Some life transitions, such as marriages, births, and new jobs, can be positive yet still come with their own unique stressors. Other major life transitions, such as moving, retirement, or entering the “empty nest” phase can also cause a significant amount of stress. If you find yourself experiencing difficulty coping with life transitions, you may find therapy helpful to become better able to adjust to changes.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy is a form of therapy that can help you deal with the emotional response caused by a traumatic event or an ongoing or long-lasting situation. Trauma can include any event or experience that causes emotional or psychological harm, but some common forms of trauma are: Abuse, Abandonment, Bullying, Death of a loved one, Divorce, Illness, Injury, Job loss, Natural disasters, Near death experience, Racism, Sexual assault.

Let your love be stronger than your hate or anger. Learn the wisdom of compromise for it is better to bend than to break. Believe the best, rather than the worst. People have a way of living up, or down to your own opinion of them. Remember that true friendship is the basis for any lasting relationship. The person you choose to marry is deserving of the courtesy and kindness you bestow on friends. Please hand this down to your children and your children’s children. The more things change, the more they are the same.
